When I was in the hospital, they placed a tube down my throat through my nose. Not very pleasant. The nurse who put it in, he had his hands full with me. Yet, he accomplished the task. The poison was drained from my body. Success.
But success came at a cost. I could not swallow. With that tube down my throat, every time I tried to swallow, I almost gagged. It was painful, even now. What I did learn to appreciate is the ability to swallow. Simple thing, right? Important part of life.
I am grateful I can swallow. Why are you grateful? Are you grateful?
Take sometime today. Look at life. Start saying thank you God. I am grateful for my family, my friends, my job, the problems You place in my life, and the ability to swallow. Think about it.
