I Timothy 1:15, Paul writes to a young preacher of 40 these words:
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners,
of whom I am the foremost.
Paul writes about Christians that he had killed for their faith. He writes about his disobedience. For being a great man of God, he sure had his faults. Yet, he reminds himself and us that Jesus came into this world to save sinners. That means the are saved to live a different life. Notice the words in the next verse, verse 16:
But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
He received mercy so that people might follow his example of living a Godly, Christ-like life. Who’s patience is displayed? Paul’s? No, Jesus. Who is on display in your life today? Who do people see?
Today watch yourself. Ask yourself, who are people seeing in this act, Jesus or me? Am I giving the words of Jesus or my own words? People who hear the voice of Jesus, show Jesus, give Jesus, live Jesus, heal like Jesus, love like Jesus. Right Beloved?
Think about it.
