Internet and Truth

Everything on the internet is true.   I have heard that so many times, I laugh now.  Sure you can believe everything on the internet.  Horses have five legs.  There are no more polar bears.   The government is here to help (I heard that in the Navy).  The sky is falling.  Get the idea.

Trust is an important part of any relationship.  Trust that is built, nurtured, and respected.  It is shown.  It is at times earned.  It is not the internet, which promotes just because I am here you can believe me.

In the book of Psalms, the word trust is used with God over 65 times (I stopped counting after the 100th Psalm).  God is trust.  Trust is God.  God’s word is truth and the outcome will be whatever He states.  You can trust His Word.

Trust His Word today.  Trust Him when He states that He will take care of you.  Trust Him when He states that He will prepare a way for you.  Trust Him.

Five Eggs and Vitamin D

I came across an article which stated eggs help in the digestion of vitamin D.  Of course being curios, I try it.   How can you tell it works?  A great question.  No answer on my part.  Still, I try it.

Whether it works or not, one can not tell.  After all, I am no doctor.  The eggs were good.  One thing I noticed is that I feel better during the day.  If that is the outcome, I will take it.  Sickness is no fun.

Funny things about this little experiment of mine, it relates to life also.  One’s life is better if it is started with God, prayer, His Word, and thanksgiving.  Life goes better when God is at the beginning, during the day, and at the end.

Just like five eggs and vitamin D help my day, God makes my day.  Have a great day.

Thursday Morning Drive

This morning I left to go to the “bone cracker.”   He is about 45 minutes away.  I leave early just to be safe.  This morning I went by a flea market in Strawtown, Indiana.  Several times I have driven by this event.  Never have I stopped. Until today.

What I like about flea markets is that everyone thinks they have something you need.  My thinking when visiting flea markets is simple: I have lived without it this long, I can live without it longer.   An item must blow me out of the water for me to purchase.  There were several interesting and awesome items from handmade belts, tools, homemade bread, and the list goes on.  Doing a very quick walk through nothing caught my eye.  I left empty handed.

There is an old saying, “another man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”  It is true.  What one person can live without, another can not.  It is interesting just to watch people buy.

This society operates the same way.  A person is junk to many others, while a treasure to some.   What I do notice is that everyone is at sometime “junk.”  But not to God.   God created us and He makes no junk and no mistakes.  The way you are created is skillfully and wonderful done.  To God you are not junk.  You are His treasure.

Let’s Sleep

Do you sit down and immediately go to sleep?  Do you snore?  Do you wake up feeling exhausted?  Grind your teeth at night?  Sounds like an infomercial right?

Many people do not sleep well at night.  Companies know this, that is why there are so many products to help one sleep.  Sleep machines to drugs, they are all on the internet for your purchase desire.

The main factor for losing sleep is stress.  Yes, stress.  There is so much stress and anxiety in the world today.  Thus the drugs and machines.

So what does one do?   Think positive thoughts.  These could include your children, a job well done, an recent accomplishment, or the cup of coffee someone made for you.  Be thankful.  We will never get everything that we want, but if we are thankful for what we have it will relive the stress and tension.  Praise God. Give God praise for all good things come from only Him.  Praise Him for your family, your spouse, your home, the food on the table, your health, your abilities, and His Son who died for yours sins.  Praise Him for His love, which will never fail you.

Stop losing sleep.  Start being positive.

Traveling with Mom

There are times that we travel with our mothers.  I did yesterday.  Now, I know that some do not look forward to this experience.  Yesterday, we had a good time, stopped at some good places, and had a great lunch.  In the midst of this time, my mother looks at me and says something about tolerating being with her.   Up to that point I did not think of it that way.

My mother put up with three children and a Morecraft man.  The last is difficult enough, but three kids.  Ugh.  She started as a stay at home mom, then a job, then a career in Nursing.  All of these changes came with the support of her family, until supper was not cooked. LOL

Through difficult times, her and Dad were always there.  In times of joy and triumph, they were always there.  Now it is just her.  She is always there.  Sometimes she has a lot of advice.  Sometimes, she plans a little too much.  Yet, rest assured, she is always praying, always hoping for her family.

Tolerating her?  No.  More like enjoying the time I have with my Mom.  Enjoy yours.

To the Lake

Today is Sunday, as with most of my friends they are at the ……………………………….lake.  Yes, you guessed it right.  For some this is their only day off, so to the lake we go.  After all, I was told, you can be close to God at the lake as you are in the church building.  I am told that over the phone as my friend catches a large mouth bass.

While I was underwater, I was close to God.  Some days more than others.

Funny thing about water, some cannot swim, but they want to be near it.  Some can swim, fish, boat, or live in it all day long.  They love it.  Water interests people.  It has a secret draw to them.  Whether it is a water fall, stream, river, or the ocean, many stand and watch for hours.

What is also fascinating about water is that it gives life and removes dirt.  Peter writes of it in his letter to us.  Water baptism is not the removal of dirt, but a removal of spiritual dirt by committing to Christ.    When baptized, one receives a new life for what it symbolizes is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.  Thus, as He was brought to life after death, we too are brought to a new life at baptism.

Why is there a secret draw to water?   It gives life.

Roe v Wade

Yesterday in a landmark decision the Supreme Court stated that abortion decisions where not the federal government’s responsibility, since it is not in the Constitution.  They referred the decision to each individual state.   If Indiana decided to ban abortions it is the states right to do so, while Illinois may have abortions.  The consisting side stated that the federal government has no jurisdiction, while the states do.

Therefore, if you want an abortion, you will have to go to a state that has legalized it.

My question is simply this, why kill a baby?  What did that baby do to deserve death?  There are people who can not have a child that would gladly adapt one.

I know that the the overall chant is that it is a woman’s body she should do with it what she pleases.  Yet there are drug laws which dictate what a person can put into their body.  There are prostitution laws, that state a person cannot sell their body for sex.  One can not over intoxicate their body and drive.

I just do not understand why a woman would kill a baby?  What did it do to you?

Confused

Most people say I am confused all the time.  Maybe.  Still, I ran across an article on the Daily Wire which read Homeland Security notifies Catholic Church of a Night of Rage against it if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Confused?  Yes, because from the article and the report it seems that it is from a group who has preached all humans should be treated the same.  There should be no room for racism, homophobia, and other words that I need a dictionary.  Why the rage on their part of they want all human beings to be treated the same?

Let’s not beat around the bush–selfishness.  A baby is not a gift from God, it is an accident, a mishap, or mistake.  That heartbeat in the womb is just gas.  Those little digits seen in an ultrasound, have not feelings.  It is nothing.

That it in the womb is a little boy or girl.  They are a gift from God.  Many people argue that point, but I do not understand how.  A baby is a gift from God.  That baby is important.  Cherish it.

Sam’s Shopping

Today I was suppose to be in Illinois, but due to a certain turn of events, I went shopping at Sam’s instead.  I would like to say this was a glorious experience.  Did I say I went twice?

As I walked through the aisles, I could not help but notice the blank expressions on people’s faces.  Whether it was sticker shock or exhaustion, it is difficult to say.  No one smiled.  A few yelled at their children.  Most were in shock.

Things are changing so fast, it is difficult to keep up.  One moment an item is a certain price, but turn the corner and return to the item and it has gone up $2.00.  Was there an employee waiting on us to turn the corner to change the price?

While prices are constantly changing, going  up that it, God never changes.  His truth is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  His love heals everyday.   He will be right there with you all the way.

Oasis in Trees?

In southern Missouri, there is a truck stop in the midst of trees.  Along the highway there is only a small sign with an arrow to alert you to its existence.  It is there.   The age of it is amazing.  It is 30 years old or older, yet it looks like new.  The staff are friendly.  They have a smile ready just for you.  Coffee is cheap and strong.  Food is out of this world.

I stumbled upon it by accident.  Out of nowhere this small sign grabbed my attention and my curiosity  So, I had to see.

Sometimes, God plants an oasis in our life.  A small sign grabs our attention.  Curiosity makes us turn.  What does God have down this short road.  Then out of nowhere an oasis that we could never imagine.    Rest.   Shower.   Peace.  For a brief time life takes a break and we are refreshed.

Of course, customer service is provided by God himself.  None better.  Enjoy.
